Each year, New Zealand Law Foundation awards merit based scholarship for women. Scholarship is available to outstanding New Zealand women law graduates for postgraduate studies in Law at either a New Zealand or an overseas university acceptable to the Selection Committee. Value of scholarship is up to $50,000 annually (up to $20,000 for study in New Zealand and up to $50,000 for study overseas). One or two scholarships may be awarded in any given year for a period of one year. Application deadline is 1 March.

About Scholarship: In 1997 the Trustees of the New Zealand Law Foundation determined to mark the centenary of the admission of Ethel Benjamin as the first woman barrister and solicitor. To that end they established this scholarship as a merit based award to outstanding women scholars.

Study: Scholarship is awarded in the field of law.
Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing postgraduate research program at either a New Zealand or an overseas university acceptable to the Selection Committee.

Eligibility: A Scholarship may be awarded to any woman scholar who is:
1. A New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
2.The holder of a New Zealand university law degree (Unless there are exceptional circumstances the award would normally be made to candidates who have gained the qualifying degree within the past five years.)
3. Accepted into a post graduate course in law at either a New Zealand or an overseas university acceptable to the Selection Committee.

Scholarship Open for: Scholarship is open for New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.

Number of awards: One or two scholarships may be awarded in any given year. (Extra funds may be made available by the Foundation on the recommendation of the Selection Committee).

Duration: Prizes are usually awarded for one year.

What does it cover? Scholarship up to $20,000 for study in New Zealand and up to $50,000 for study overseas will be awarded.

Selection Criteria: In selecting the successful candidate(s) the Committee will have regard to (among other things) scholastic ability, the nature of the intended research, its compatibility with the Foundation’s wider objectives and the potential of the applicant to make a significant legal contribution to the New Zealand community in the future.

Notification: The Selection Committee will invite shortlisted candidates for an interview in late April/early May each year. All reasonable expenses will be met by the NZ Law Foundation.

Apply: Candidates shall forward their applications to reach the Scholarships Office at the university where they are currently enrolled or from which they graduated, by 1st March in the year for which the scholarship is awarded and in which it will be taken up. Every application must be accompanied by:
a) a certified copy of the applicant’s academic record
b) a statement of the proposed programme of research or advanced study
c) proof of NZ citizenship or permanent residency
d) an example of legal writing (e.g. essays, opinions, legal articles)
e) full particulars of any other bursaries, scholarships, prizes or fellowships which the applicant has applied for or been awarded
f) a budget proposal
g) names and addresses of two referees whom the applicant will organise to provide references direct to the Scholarships Office
h) a statement outlining how the candidate intends to disseminate the final research product
i) a good quality photograph – head and shoulders view.

2014 HEC Paris MBA Scholarship for Excellence in France

HEC ParisHEC is offering merit-based MBA scholarship for September 2014 intake. All HEC Paris MBA admitted candidates are eligible for this Merit-Based scholarship. Students must have completed an undergraduate program at an accredited university. Student should be an athlete who has represented their country at a national level. The amount of the scholarship varies from €6,000 to €24,000. The applications for scholarship will close within a week of admission.

Eligibility: All HEC Paris MBA admitted candidates can apply for this Merit-Based scholarship. Please note that you cannot apply to both HEC Paris Excellence Scholarship and HEC Paris MBA Need-Based scholarship.
-Students must have completed an undergraduate program at an accredited university. They will require official academic transcripts as proof of this.
-The requirement of an undergraduate degree may be waived if:
-Students can provide a certificate certifying that you have completed your secondary education. You must also have 5 years minimum of professional experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.
-Students are an athlete who has represented their country at a national level.

Scholarship Open for: Local and International students can apply for this scholarship.

Value: The amount of the scholarship varies from €6,000 to €24,000.
4 different amounts can be awarded:
-€6,000 – the amount of the initial deposit
-€12,000 – 25% of the total tuition fees
-€18,000 – the amount of the last installment
-€24,000 – the amount of the first installment
the amount is deducted from successful candidates’ last tuition fee payment.

Selection Criteria: Scholarship will be based on academic excellence, the overall strength of the application, the results of the selection interviews and the candidate’s GMAT score.

Notification: Decisions will be announced a week after the Admissions Jury decision.

Deadline: The application for scholarship will close on within a week of admission. The application deadlines for admission are: 1st January, 1st February, 1st March, 1st April, 1st May, 1st June and 1st July (for September intake).

University of Derby Merit Based Scholarships for International Students in UK, 2014

University of Derby

University of Derby offers Merit Based Scholarships for International Students in UK. Scholarships are available for full time international (outside the EU) taught student in the first year of study at the University of Derby. These are to assist with tuition fees for the first year of tuition. Only students who have received an offer from the University will be eligible to apply for a scholarship. 

About Scholarship: University has a number of merit based £1,000 scholarships available for international students starting their course in January. These scholarships are available to apply for once you have applied to the University. Applicant must be a full time international (outside the EU) taught student in the first year of your study at the University of Derby. 

Study: Scholarships are provided to learn any of the courses offered by the University of Derby.

Course Level: Scholarships are available to assist with tuition fees for the first year of tuition at the University of Derby.
