Poornaprajna Institute of Scientific Research Devanahalli is offering PhD positions for young enthusiastic researchers in the field of Theoretical Physics, Materials Science and Biological Sciences. Researchers must have MSc degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology or in other interdisciplinary areas such as Materials Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemical sciences etc. Researchers must be qualified in the CSIR-JRF /UGC-JRF examinations or have DST- INSPIRE fellowship 

About Scholarship: Poornaprajna Institute of Scientific Research (PPISR) is situated near Bengaluru International Airport on a sprawling area of 32 acres. PPISR offers state of the art facilities for young researchers to carry out innovative and original research in current areas of basic and applied sciences.

Currently in Poornaprajna Institute of Scientific Research, there are three divisions, Theoretical Physics, Materials Sciences and Biological Sciences where research programmes of advanced nature are in progress. The institute is recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), GOI, New Delhi and Manipal University, Manipal, Karnataka, as an R & D center.

Faculty members are recognized as PhD supervisors and the students will be registered for their PhD degrees under Manipal University.

2013 DST INSPIRE, Government of India Fellowship

DST INSPIRE

Applications are invited by National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai for DST INSPIRE, Government of India Fellowship 2013. 

Scholarship Details: All the candidates admitted to 5 year Integrated M.Sc. program at NISER and CBS are eligible for DST INSPIRE, Government of India, and fellowship of Rs. 5,000 per month and Rs. 20,000 per year for carrying out summer projects. 

Eligibility Criteria:

* Candidates seeking admission to NISER and UM-DAE CBS for the academic session 2013-14 should be from Science stream (having any combination of Biology/Chemistry/ Mathematics/Physics) at class XII and must write the NEST-2013 examination.

* Candidates who have passed class XII examination or equivalent from any recognized board in India in 2011 or 2012 or are appearing in 2013 can apply for NEST-2013.
